A Midsummer night’s dream: June’s inspiring new moon

Whoa. There’s just so much crazy energy everywhere right now. We’ve just experienced the summer or winter solstice, and now it’s time for June’s super new moon. It’s super because of it’s closeness to the earth. Plus, for those of us in the Nordic countries, we are celebrating Midsummer this weekend.

Basically, to me it feels like all of this is just an incredible base for an opportunity for positive changes and transformation. So, what do you want to change? What do you want to focus on right now? What are your hearts desires?

‘Cuz, you know, it’s time to clear out the old and begin something totally new. There is bright, light midsummer lunar energy swirling all around no matter where you may find yourself. So, with that warmth + inspiration, let’s clear out the old, stagnant energy and embrace this potent, youthful, life-giving energy.

The seasons have changed, the new moon symbolizes beginnings, and the solstice reminds us of the power of light. So I’m thinking that, right now, we are being called out from the dark and into the light. It’s time to make the next leap. But first, we need to lighten + simplify. We have to understand where we are, what we need to take with us, and what we can release and leave behind. Then, we can start our new beginnings.

Here’s what I’m gonna do:

// Reflect on what’s been going on for the past 10-12 weeks. It’s time to give it my undivided attention.

Robert Frost said, “The only way out is through”. For me, that means that in order to move forward, I have to be present. I have to slow down + take note on what has been, and what is. And that means going deep into my soul to discover anything that still subconsciously bothers me. Noticing anything that felt wrong or bad or that I didn’t deal with. And it’s important to really think and observe and feel. To not ignore or push anything away. Once I am aware of what I have been feeling, thinking, experiencing, then I can begin to see the meaning. Because that’s the point of reflection. To begin to understand the whys, to gain perspective, to learn, and to evolve. All of that has to be done before moving on.

// Minimize and simplify.

It’s time to literally throw out what I don’t need and don’t use.For me, that means decluttering and getting my feng shui groove on. Right now, it’s time to literally remove things from my life. Things I don’t need. Things I don’t use. And not just things either. I can also declutter my time too. Make time, create time, and schedule time for rest + self-care. As I do all of this, then I begin to naturally prioritize what it really is that means the most to me. What my focus is in life.

It is the perfect season for simplifying, you know. We are literally throwing off our clothes right now as the weather turns warmer… going on vacations and making time for ourselves. Life is slowing down and it’s easy to enjoy things a little bit more; and, at the same time, feel a burst of energy (thanks to Mr. Sun) and lightness. We are even willing to be adventurous + crazy + carefree. But why should this only be during this time of the year though?!

What if the lesson we tap into during this new moon is just what we need to help us set the intention to make this a way of life? A change in how we live. A way to bring light, simplicity, focus, and meaning to our everyday lives… not just our summer, vacation, holiday lives.

If we are willing to face it all, my friends, willing to dare to be brave, to open ourselves up to surrendering our control and consciously deciding to remove, declutter, minimize and simplify everything from our home to our food to our time to our spirit, the universe will respond with everything we need.

When we align ourselves with the movement of the cosmos, I believe, then we open ourselves up to embracing the natural rhythm of the world. It takes guts, mind you, to trust in the unfolding of our lives… to rest in the present moment, holding back the urge to worry + fret for fear of not knowing what comes next. But, when we let go, when we open up, when we set an intention and just fling ourselves out there, then life surprises us in ways we could have never imagined.

When I was struggling to decide whether to ask for a divorce or hope for the best, it was damn hard to trust anything. I truly felt that I wanted and needed a plan laid out in front of me. But more than the plan, I wanted to feel free. I wanted to set free the desires and dreams that I had deep in my soul… those ideas and wonderings that I had had for as many years as I could remember. My soul never stopped whispering to me, and, so, I answered with total abandonment.

I asked for that divorce. Quit my job. Sold everything. And moved. And, now, 10 years later, I could have never imagined that I would be living the life I live. So, yes. It’s possible to clear out the old and usher in the new. In fact, in order to live our highest, most authentic lives, it’s a must.

Join me on this new moon midsummer’s eve and let go of all that has happened. Learn from it and then just let it go. Set your own intention for the type of life that you want to live… the priorities you choose, the way you want your days to look, and cast your gaze toward the heavens. Breathe deeply. And trust this moment. Trust this threshold. Trust this moment of change + transformation. We are standing at the edge of the next phase of our own incredible journey… one that leads each of us to harmony, authenticity, and fulfillment.

So, dare to say it. Whisper it to your heart. Shout it out to the moon or the sun. What is it that your heart yearns for? What is your soul saying to you? Listen, and then commit. Starting tomorrow let’s wake up ready to fulfill our dreams, to live our highest and best lives, and to trust deeply that we deserve it all!

New moon + Midsummer blessings to you all! Feel the magic!

xoxo. liz.
