  1. Not sure L~

What is it that people say when they can’t explain an event/occurrence or need something to “be, or end” in a particular way?

“It’s fate”, or “meant to be”? Is there a way to “know”, for certain? I doubt it.

Personally, I believe the correct path is the “gut” path- but it’s very, very difficult to allow this to work- our brains jump in front almost instantaneously to “think it out”, don’t they?

Once again, beautiful photos & interesting topic- cheers!

    1. thanks, tracy! i ran across the quote and i simply loved the serenity it brought me… the feeling of letting myself be drawn and live that which i really love. it’s usually an unknown path, but a beautiful one nonetheless.

    2. Thanks, again, Tracy! I’m with you 100%.. following our instincts, our gut, our soul. Easier said than done, but oh so worth it!

  2. “If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path.”

    1. ohhhhh… joseph smith. one of my faves. beautiful quote, thanks ever so much for sharing!

  3. It’s funny you wrote about this when I was discussing this very same subject with Alana.

I think what is ‘right’ for us is the eventual choice we make. As funny as this sounds, I believe it is. Even though we seemingly make the ‘wrong’ choices, some of the experiences we have had are/were necessary to teach us something about our lives in order for us to move on better and stronger.

I don’t necessarily think there is a ‘wrong’ path for us. We make take detours here and there but we do wind up where we should be and whatever choices we make, there will always be valuable lessons to take with us.

    1. I think there is a lot of truth to the idea of the twists and turns of the journey making us who we are. I am at the age now when I feel like all the experiences I have had, however unrelated they seemed at the time, have prepared me well for the tasks at hand.

I am not big into setting long term goals, and in some sense have let life carry me along. I would have sought out very little of what I have experienced along the way, but I am grateful for the unexpected opportunities that have shaped me.

      1. I agree with both of you, Barb & Dylan. The unexpected is what makes our journey. And, at least for me, if I am following my way into the unknown then I am most likely following the way true to my soul. Plan and all that almost never work out a we planned or hoped, but the courage to simply go anyway may lead us down unknown, unfamiliar paths, but ones that in the end become adventures, experiences, and opportunities that we would have otherwise missed.

  4. Hi Barb & Liz –

I think the biggest problem for me (used to be) was that I planned too much for the future. I had almost everything planned down to the tiniest detail and I worked towards those aspirations as if nothing else mattered.

Most of it had to do with my significant other and so right now that we’re no longer together, I think the biggest lesson for me is to live each day as it comes, to live in the now and not worry so much about tomorrow when tomorrow is not promised.

While there certainly is no harm in planning for a brighter future, it should never override your existence in the now.

I believe experiences shape who we are, yes. Because…no matter how hard I’ve had it, I think I wouldn’t have the heart that I do at this point in my life had it not been for those experiences.

And, it’s taken me a while to say this, but I like who I am. I know I’m a person with a kind heart…I have empathy for others and an understanding that many do not have. All this because of experience.

If anyone would ask me if there’s one thing I would change about the choices I’ve made…I don’t think there would be anything that I’d want to change. Maybe the fact that I hurt people along the way, but otherwise, I’d have still made the same choices either way.

    Blessings to you both.

  5. Amazing photos! I agree! Like Steve Jobs said, “Follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become”.
