do you ever wonder who you are?

 IMG_7478

thanks to my blogging/twitter friend, alarna, i got a little distracted the other day. she tweeted this link, and i, of course, clicked on it and got immersed in all the silly craziness.

you have got to give it a whirl!

come on, admit that you enjoy hunting down & reading about “the type of person you are”. you know. personality tests. i can’t be the only one intrigued by this meaningless (and yet, sometimes very insightful) activity. it’s just so much fun. so, i clicked on alarna’s tweet and found myself on someone else’s blog who had a link to a website that takes your blog’s web address and analyzes you. how, you ask? i have no idea. it doesn’t really seem possible to simply type in an address and receive an accurate description of who i am.

but i clicked. i entered. and i received.

and the only thing that didn’t seem to be right in the description of me was that i’ve never thought of myself as an extrovert, but an introvert. and i never would have described myself as a socializer – more like a loner. but, who knows? maybe i’m not really that introverted. still, everything else that was written made sense.  yep. it just may be a good insight into how others perceive me. who knows.

anyway… here’s what my blog address turned up:

ESFJ – The Socializers

The author of https://belovelive.com is of the type ESFJ.
The social, warm, enthusiastic, energetic, structured and opinionated type. They are especially attuned to the feelings of themselves and others. They tend to be very aware of the values of their peer-group and tend to see things as either right or wrong, good or bad. They tend to be traditional and value their friends and family the most. People love to be around ESFJs and they are extremely good on bringing out the best of others.
They take pleasure in other people’s happiness. They give generously, but expect appreciation in return. Sensitive to the physical needs of others, they respond by offering practical care. As expert people readers, ESFJs often adapt their manners to meet the expectations of others. However, they may have difficulty recognizing the shortcomings of loved ones.

The Socializers are down-to-earth, practical people and very keen on making sure everyone is alright. This quality makes them enjoy social work places. Since they enjoy being and keeping things neat and tidy, they often also enjoy working in such environments.

Common satisfying careers: Teacher, Office Managers, Administrative Manager, Child Care, Special Education Teacher, Counselor, Dentist and HR Manager.

Notable ESFJs: Harry S. Truman, Bill Clinton, Tom Clancy, Barbara Walters, Tyra Banks, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Woody Harrelson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, Victoria Beckham.

so, you can see why i was pretty interested & having fun with this little activity. if you know me at all, then you will see that this brain picture thing describes me to a “t”. i am totally a senser & a feeler way before i am logical. and my practical. idealistic sides are quite even. and the careers associated with ESFJ’s… spot on!

now. you know you wanna try it too. join in the fun! and then let me know how it turned out.

peace.

  1. Myers-Brigg!!! I took the actual Myers Brigg personality test years ago, and my result was INFJ. It was an *extremely* detailed test (took me a little over an hour I think) but the description of my result fit me to a ‘t’ and I proudly call myself an INFJ (particularly with the fact that less than 1% of the population is INFJ… or was back when I took it). (: You should type in Myers-Brigg personality test in Google and take the actual test, then share your result!

I’m taking a Theories of Personality class this semester and we’re looking at different theorists’ views on how theory develops from childhood to adulthood and how it shapes and affects us. (:

    1. your class sounds soooo interesting! hope it is! 😉

i did the m-b years & years ago. i should give it another whirl!

  2. I’m surprised about the Extrovert thing for you, too. Wouldn’t have expected that. I’d be curious what kind of results you would get with the actual Myers-Briggs test.

The link didn’t work for me, and I don’t have enough of a blog to be analyzed, but I have taken the Myers-Briggs fairly recently and I am INFJ. Although it’s a pretty rare personality type, it turns out to be the most represented one in our seminary class! Weird, huh?

  3. I have had the myers briggs test done in the past.

I did the typealyzer. The didn’t get even one right. I guess I can sort of understand how they might be confused by my address, it took forever to think up a blog address, I am just bad at that sort of thing and they really shouldn’t have concluded anything by it.

What I really am is ENFJ.

    Kate

    1. so sorry it didn’t work out great for you. but thanks for sharing your m-b type anyway! 🙂 peace.

  4. I definitely think this fits your profile, Liz! You come across as very social and family oriented, and interested in the happiness of others. I’d agree with this one! But here’s a funny thing… when I first did mine, it came up ENFP – The inspirer. And when I did it again just now it came out ESFP – The Performer. The only difference would have been the last blog post! So that’s funny… I’m definitely not a performer, and the other one seemed to fit more the image I want to project than the RL version of me. At least in my opinion… Fascinating, all the same! 🙂

    1. oh my gosh, that’s so crazy how it changed. 🙂 it is such a fun little thing! and as i’ve thought about it, i think it actually does fit me quite well!

  5. Okay, I’m going to break it to you- lol.

It goes entirely by the words in the blog title- assuming that they were meaningful to you. I have no blog atm, so I threw my biz website addy in- & lo & behold, I like technical things!!! Well, duh- when the site has the word “computing” in it… 😛

A previous personality test had me as ESTJ…which “kind-of” fit, though not exactly…

I do find a lot of the personality attributed to a full-on (sun sign) Aquarian fits me pretty well.

Thanks for the bit-o fun Liz!

PS- a pretty in-depth zodiac site is astrologyzone.com

Just look for your “full” reading for the month & close any pop-ups. It’s a thorough site. FYI. 🙂

    1. i know i know. 😉 gonna check out my astrology description – everything i’ve read in the past about libras seemed to ring true. 🙂

  6. Hi there, I just found your blog via The Musings of a Lesbian Writer, and I’ve subscribed to you in my google reader. Reading your posts makes me smile, and I envy your snow – I live in the tropics! My blog name says I’m a performer – which, literally, I am. But the blog itself is more about introspection. Eh, anyway, it was fun. Lovely to find your blog, and I look forward to more!

    1. the typelyzer was off by one letter…i linked from one of the pages and ended up at truity where i took some version of the myers briggs…i got the same result i’ve gotten most times i’ve taken the test: E/I NFP which i think fits me well. I’d check them out….

    2. yay! welcome! thanks for stopping by & commenting. you are so sweet. the tropics, huh?! sounds totally fantastic and warm. i love the snow, but the frigid temperatures are horrible. so nice to “meet” you and i look forward to exploring your blog. 🙂 much peace & love.

  7. This is an awesome link! According to it, my writing blog is an artist and my photography blog is a performer. I guess i have both traits so I am fine with this. I def have to come up with my own post on this short test!
