scroll and stop: a quick, random photo challenge

here’s a fun little photo thing to do with me, especially if you’re as crazy about photography as i am. i was inspired my wife’s cousin. such a fun + simple little post idea!

// first, open up your camera roll on your phone.

// now, scroll one time + then put down your finger to stop the scrolling. no peeking as it scrolls + no cheating!

// whatever photo you stop on (no cheating!) is now part of your little scroll + stop gathering. mark the photo or save it somehow.

// scroll again from your current position, back further in your camera roll, and randomly stop your finger on the next photo.

// repeat this 7 or 9 or 10 or 12 times, randomly choosing photos from your camera roll.

// after you’ve gathered them all, share a little background info/story about each photo.  and post it on your blog or facebook or even as a collage on instagram.

here are my 10 random photos. what will yours be?! happy scrolling!

a little coffee break from this past weekend. barefoot and green grass. oh, and coffee, of course. soooooo nice.

captured my cousin on the bridge as we wandered through the city when she visited us about 2 weeks ago. at this moment we’d been indulging in valborg (swedish spring celebration) drinks for hours and were on the hunt for food!

a 4 am sunrise just a few weeks ago. now it looks like this at about 3 am. crazy, awesome nordic nature.

my cozy, cozy, cozy side of the bed with my little cactus babies. love them!

i love every single thing about this photo. i found it photo on lina’s blog a few weeks ago and saved it to the camera roll on my phone. i think i was gonna do something creative with it… i don’t think i did. the photo was taken in the summer of 2010 in santa fe, new mexico when lina and i were on our honeymoon – a road trip across the states! coast to coast in 12 days! and the beer that i was drinking that day… my favorite in the whole wild world. wildflower honey. sooooo delish.

awwww… the cozy kitchen in our old apartment. it was funky and cool and big. we created lots of good memories of weekend mornings and gatherings from this past year in this space.  so sweet.

oh so fun! this is the photo i took of lina when we came to the showing of our current apartment. we were trying to play it cool, to not look too interested. but, we were both dyyyyyying inside. we fell in love the second we walked in. and, now… we live here!! my gratitude is off the charts.

the view of downtown rooftops + the castle from the teacher’s lunchroom/break room at my work. i mean, seriously. europe!

oh lordy. this was a cruise that we took with lina’s family in february. the fog was so intense we couldn’t leave the dock on time. the waves in the ocean were a bit intense. and we were a tiny bit freaked out about setting sail. but, all went well, and we had a blast celebrating lina’s sister’s 40th birthday.

gorgeous stockholm. taken as i was standing by the door of the subway, riding it back to the train station, after a day of yoga training.

there ya go. some random snippets into my everyday life. if you’d like to see more of my photos, you can follow me on instagram at belovelivephotography. i’m pretty much an addict. but, my snaps of everyday life, have turned into a true passion + a desire to create art. what i’d really like to do soon is to create a little instagram retreat and instagram e-courses/tips of some sort. a chance to use photography and my life coaching to help us find the sacred + beautiful in everyday life. to be mindful + present. what do you think about that?!

xoxo. liz.

*featured photo is from a day in very early spring when i decided that i’d take an afternoon break from work, go outside without a jacket, and pick up a yummy flat white from a nearby café.
