Last weekend, Lina and I took a very important + long-awaited trip to Ireland. We’ve been quite a few times before, and just love the vibes in Ireland. But, the best part about Ireland, for us, has always been the joy of seeing some very special people that live there.
We have a dear friend who moved to Ireland for love a few years ago. And we’ve all been friends with the couple for years now, traveling back + forth for visits, celebrating good times, being there for each other in bad times, and keeping in touch throughout it all.
Sadly, one them passed away last autumn, leaving behind our long-time friend with their son. Lina and I had a ton of stuff also going on at exactly the same time, with Lina’s grandmother passing away the same week and a serious illness in my family which led me to have to fly to the US for a few days. Needless to say, it was a very tough time.
We were unable to go to the funeral, and our friend actually asked us to wait to come; saying that she would much rather us come after things had settled and she found herself living a somewhat regular, but completely different life, as an expat single mom.
The trip had been a long time coming and we were all longing to be together, when finally the weekend for our trip arrived. We absolutely could not wait to be together again and just have a cozy, wonderful time together. First, however, Lina and I had few hours to kill after our plane landed, so we headed into Dublin for an afternoon of adventures…
So, here’s a bit of what we did and saw and experienced as we waited for our friend to pick us up in a little Irish town north of Dublin. I just have to say, I am so grateful to share all of the adventures of life with my girl. She is absolutely the best and I have more fun with her than anyone. Below you can see the shenanigans we got ourselves into when we were let loose in Dublin for an afternoon. Hehe. Hope you enjoy the video!
I’ve got another post coming up during next week… with tons of photos + another video, documenting the rest of our weekend in the Irish countryside. You will not want to miss it! In the meantime, here’s to a great Sunday for us all. Love + peace to each one of you.
xoxo. liz.
Oh I loooove the video. Cannot wait for number 2.,,, though it does make me miss you both even more!!!!!
So glad you enjoyed it! The next one is done – and it features two very special people! xoxo (well, one person and one set of feet!) 🙂
Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s partner – that’s awfully sad!
Looks like you all had a fab time!
Yes, Holly, it was quite tragic. We did a podcast in tribute to our friend who passed away, and it all happened at the same time my dad got sick and Lina’s grandmother passed away. Tough times. But, made so much bearable with special people. The next video is ready now… just so you know! 😉 Happy Easter Monday! xx
