Hello, my lovelies. It feels like it’s been a while since I tapped on these keys + sent out a post into the cyber-universe to you. I blame it on my super amazing trip to Germany last weekend. It simply knocked me off of my regular schedule. Poor me, I know. Plus, everything is winding down at school, which means that it’s actually a mix of super crazy stress and moments of relaxed bliss knowing that summer is just around the corner.
But, thanks to Sweden’s love of holidays + celebrations of Christian holy days (that no one actually celebrates), I have a four-day weekend. And now I can sit here this morning and write a little post, which feels awesome. Ok, back to the holiday weekend… it’s perfect timing for this American soul, so I can trick myself into thinking that we are actually celebrating Memorial Day here, too. In the States, this weekend is the “official” beginning of the summer season. And, it really feels like it here, to me, too.
My regular classes have all ended now, the graduates graduate next Friday, and there are only 2 weeks left before all of the students are done. In the meantime, the weather is very slowly warming up. Lina and I have a dinner party with 2 friends planned for the weekend, outside beer hangs are happening, and the trees are finally all green!
So, yeah. Summer vibes are starting to really set in. The beginning of the season is upon us, and I could not be happier!
Speaking of beginnings, it just so happens that tonight we are also celebrating a new moon. And taking a tiny moment to ponder the new moon, feel her vibes, and look up at the dark sky is great way to usher in this new season + new little phase of twenty-seventeen. Taking just a few deep breaths + pausing at some point during our day is a great way to align ourselves with the movement of + changes in nature around us. It gives us a chance to tap into our wild souls and live, not only mindfully, but also organically + naturally… as a part of Mother Nature, in deep connection with her.
Today, to celebrate the new moon, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite moon songs. Songs, for me, that evoke a little magic + mystery. And, tonight, should you want to gaze up at the night sky, use a song or two to inspire your own little new moon moment. Set some intentions. Dream big. And take a step towards the life that you want to create.
