the swedish invasion

hi friends!! wow. it’s been forever since i have posted here – well, forever in my world at least. i love posting and sharing things with y’all as much as i can, and i suppose i do it pretty regularly. but, it’s been over a week now! i’ve got a super good excuse, though.

last sunday (one day after lina and i got back from our beach trip) we headed to charlotte, nc to the airport to pick up our first swedish visitors!! lina’s mom and two of her aunts flew over to visit us! they spent their first 5 days in new york city, and then flew south to see us.

we have been playing tour guides all week long – and it has been so much fun! we’ve done a little bit of everything and just soaked in the many moments of laughter and good times. and… my swedish was pretty damn good, if i do say so myself, considering i haven’t spoken any swedish for almost a year. hehe.

time has flown by, and we are headed back to the airport tomorrow to drop off lina’s mom and aunts – but we’re hopping a plane too! we are headed to new york city for the week!! and the even cooler thing is that lina’s brother and cousin are flying over from sweden, so we will meet them outside the empire state building tomorrow evening! and then, on friday when we fly back to north carolina, they are flying back with us!!

but before i get ahead of myself, here are a few photos of the memories we’ve made this past week. gaaaah. it’s been so freaking amazing and wonderful – and i think the ladies have convinced my parents that they need to come & visit sweden some time!

    1. Alarna, they were, in fact, biscuits (American-style biscuits, of course). Souther, buttery, doughy biscuits with jam and butter. A classic staple to be served with all meals in the south. 😉
